French Reading Program

French Reading Program

As you know, reading is an important part of a child's learning experience.  In
the acquisition of a second language, reading helps build vocabulary, fluency,
pronunciation, and even comprehension.  In French class, your child has been
given a book to read at home.  It may seem a difficult task at first, but you
will see that soon, your child will be reading with confidence.  We encourage
our students to read out loud as much as possible.  While reading these books
is not a graded assessment, it will prepare students for the final oral exam,
in which they are required to read a small text and answer comprehension
questions.  The more your child reads, the better prepared he or she will be.
